July 26, 2009 Approximately 60% of our body is made up of water. Therefore, it is important to keep our body hydrated for it to function to its potential. Keeping hydrated keeps your energy levels up and can also help manage your appetite. Our body uses water to regulate body temperature, to keep our skin moist, and to transport oxygen and other nutrients. Dehydration occurs when you lose as little as 1% of your body weight. Our body loses water through breathing, perspiration, and urine. Aim for 6 – 10 cups of fluid per day! |
