August 8, 2010 With the summer here, BBQ season is upon us. It is important to practice food safety techniques. To prevent food borne illnesses, be sure when you are marinating foods that you marinate them in the fridge and not on the counter. Also, be sure to marinade in glass, plastic safe containers or sealable plastic bags. The acid in the marinades will react with metal bowls and pans. Be sure not to use marinade that has been used with raw meats as a sauce unless it is boiled for at least one minute. Happy grilling! |
