August 29, 2010 Omega-3 fatty acids are known to protect against heart disease and certain inflammatory conditions. Consider switching from regular eggs to omega-3 enriched eggs as a way to increase your intake of omega-3 fatty acids. How do they make omega-3 rich eggs? These eggs come from hens fed a diet rich in flaxseed, therefore their egg yolk is rich in omega-3 fat. Egg substitute products with omega-3 are also available and they contain the same amount of omega-3 fat but have 80% less cholesterol and 50% less fat. So, choose those omega-3 eggs and egg products more often. |
