January 3, 2010 Breakfast is truly the most important meal of the day. Research has shown that people who eat breakfast have better mental function, are less likely to be overweight, and have an increased intake of important nutrients. For people struggling with weight control, eating breakfast is a great way to “rev-up” your metabolism which will help your body burn more calories throughout the day. If you are not a breakfast eater, start by having at least one food item. Then slowly work your way to having 3 out of 4 food groups at breakfast. It might take more time in the morning to get organized to eat breakfast, but you will benefit tremendously by having this meal every morning. |
