December 27, 2009 Whole wheat vs whole grain or multi grain…what is the difference? The difference: whole grains are better sources of fiber and other important nutrients, such as selenium, potassium and magnesium. The term “whole wheat” only means the flour is made entirely of WHEAT and it does not contain as many nutrients and fibre. So whenever you can, choose whole grains over refined grains. To be sure if it is a whole-grain product, check the label to see if it states: 100% whole grain whole wheat. |
